Bike Starters

ROLLIN’ ROAD MOTORCYCLE ROLLER STARTERS

Can your Bike Starter System start old bore bikes?

As long as your bike is in good working order, the fuel, ignition and clutch are all working, it rolls freely and there’s a good battery for the bike starter then your bike should start.

I have connected a brand new battery to the bike starter however it just clicks a few times and nothing else happens

Check your terminals/posts to make sure there is no clear coating or other matter resulting in a poor connection (Even highly polished posts or terminals will cause a poor connection)

The starter rollers aren't spinning my wheel fast enough and it bogs down when I put my bike on it

It’s either a poor connection or an under powered battery. The battery needs to be at least 520cca and be hooked up directly to the leads provided. (have your battery Load Tested before purchase so you know that it has the full cca and not an old battery that has been sitting on the floor)

What type of battery does the bike starter system need?

We recommend any battery that is 12volt & 520cca* minimum and is close to 240 x 170 x 209cm in size. Lead batteries are preferred. AcDelco 22F520SMFDF, AcDelco 22F600SMF or equivalent, as long as it is more than 520cca & fits in the cradle.

* CCA = Cold Cranking Amp.

Can I buy replacement parts, starter motor, rollers, bearings etc?

Yes we can send you any parts you may need. We manufacture a lot of parts which we can send to you at reasonable prices plus postage. email or call us for more information.

Can I use jumper leads or Anderson plugs so I can use my car/caravan battery to start my bike?

Our Bike Starters will not work with jumper leads, starter packs or any kind of connection between the battery and the starter motor (The starter motors we use are powerful & draw a lot of amperage while starting) so we don’t recommend it.

Do you make electric starters 240volt /110volt?

No, we only make 12volt battery operated starters. We use powerful diesel engine starter motors for both the 2.2KW & 2.5KW models.

The rollers spin and the wheel doesn't hook up to start my bike. What am I doing wrong?

Most people use second or third gear, clutch in and press the Bike Starter foot switch. Once the rear wheel is spinning , bounce on the seat and release the clutch leaving the throttle closed. Then feather the throttle and the bike should fire. Whip in the clutch and take your foot off the starter switch. There is a bit of technique involved but it’s not hard to master.

I think I am using the right technique but the rollers just spin & doesn't start my bike?

As long as your bike is in good working order, the fuel, ignition and clutch are all working, it rolls freely and there’s a good battery for the bike starter then your bike should start.

They are only designed to start a bike in good working order & not bring a non-running bike back to life.

How long does it take to ship to the USA?

We normally send them within 5 business days from the order date.

It takes around 2 weeks shipping time to the States. Our delivery estimates should only be used as a general guide. Unforeseen delays (out of our control) may occur.

Is there any warranty with the starters?

There is no standard warranty with the starters.

All Bike Starters are tested before packing however we do understand that sometimes things can go wrong, If you have any problems we will do our best to get you going. Bike Starters will last for years starting your bikes. (The starters are only meant for starting an engine and not continuous running which will overheat & shorten the starter motor life)
