Barry Smith – A Racing Legend

Bike Starters was founded in 2013 by Barry Smith, a living legend in motorcycle racing. With over 50 years in the Australian motorcycle industry, Barry’s achievements are extraordinary, including two World Championships on 250cc Yamaha Bikes and two Australian Championships on 125s. His illustrious career inspired the creation of Bike Starters roller units, providing a reliable alternative as push starting became phased out.

Richard Craigie – A New Era Begins

In 2020, Barry Smith passed the torch to Richard Craigie, whose deep passion for classic dirt bike restoration led him to Bike Starters. Richard is committed to continuing Barry’s legacy and providing riders with the best bike starting solutions available.
